A Guardianship Application is a written request filed before the Guardian Court during an ongoing guardianship case seeking an interim order, permission regarding a minor child, authority over a minor's property, passport permission, educational decisions, foreign travel permission, or other relief connected with the welfare of a minor.

Unlike a Guardianship Petition, which initiates guardianship proceedings, an application is filed after the case has already been instituted and a specific order is required from the Court.

The welfare and best interests of the minor remain the primary consideration in every guardianship application.
