A Child Custody Application is a written request submitted before the Family Court during an ongoing custody case seeking an interim order, urgent relief, visitation arrangement, production of the child, or any other direction necessary for the welfare of the minor.

Unlike a Child Custody Petition, which starts a custody case, an application is usually filed after the case has already been instituted.

The welfare of the child remains the most important consideration in every custody application.

Application For Interim Custody

One of the most common applications in custody proceedings is an application seeking temporary custody while the main case remains pending.
